译文

'O Suta, in me arises a mind that sees the faults, but on meeting Duryodhana, it changes again. Since matters have come to this, O Sanjaya, what is destined to be will be. They say that in battle the kshatriya's duty — the giving up of the body — is honored.' Sanjaya said: 'O great king, this question is worthy of you, as befits you. But you should not place this blame on Duryodhana alone. Listen fully as I speak, O earthly lord: if a man obtains misfortune through his own evil conduct, it does not befit him to attribute it to fate or to time. O great king, whoever among men does all that is blameworthy, by acting in a censured manner, becomes deserving of punishment before the whole world.'
