译文

Then the lord of the earth Hiranyavarman, O king, began to confer with his friends about the Panchala ruler. There, among these great-souled kings, a firm decision was reached: 'If it is indeed true, O king, that Shikhandini is a girl, then we shall bind the king of Panchala and bring him to our home. Having installed another king over the Panchalas, we shall kill king Drupada together with Shikhandin.' Then the lord once more commanded his messenger, the chamberlain, to go to the son of Prishata, and sent him forth with the words: 'I will kill you; be steadfast.' And Drupada, the earthly lord, timid by nature and conscious of his guilt, was overtaken by intense fear, O king.
