शृङ्गाणि वै शृङ्गवतस् त्रीण्य् एव मनुजाधिप ॥
एकं मणिमयं तत्र तथैकं रौक्मम् अद्भुतम् ॥

तत्र स्वयंप्रभा देवी नित्यं वसति शाण्डिली ॥
उत्तरेण तु शृङ्गस्य समुद्रान्ते जनाधिप ॥
वर्षम् ऐरावतं नाम तस्माच् छृङ्गवतः परम् ॥
न तत्र सूर्यस् तपति न ते जीर्यन्ति मानवाः ॥
चन्द्रमाश् च सनक्षत्रो ज्योतिर् भूत इवावृतः ॥
पद्मप्रभाः पद्मवर्णाः पद्मपत्रनिभेक्षणाः ॥
पद्मपत्रसुगन्धाश् च जायन्ते तत्र मानवाः ॥
अनिष्पन्दाः सुगन्धाश् च निराहारा जितेन्द्रियाः ॥
देवलोकच्युताः सर्वे तथा विरजसो नृप ॥
त्रयोदश सहस्राणि वर्षाणां ते जनाधिप ॥
आयुष्प्रमाणं जीवन्ति नरा भरतसत्तम ॥

padmapatrasugandhāś ca jāyante tatra mānavāḥ ||
aniṣpandāḥ sugandhāś ca nirāhārā jitendriyāḥ ||
devalokacyutāḥ sarve tathā virajaso nṛpa ||
trayodaśa sahasrāṇi varṣāṇāṃ te janādhipa ||
āyuṣpramāṇaṃ jīvanti narā bharatasattama ||
Shringavan, O lord of men, has just three peaks: one is made of jewels, another is wondrous and golden, and the third, adorned with dwellings, is made of all precious stones. There the self-radiant goddess Shandili ever dwells. To the north of Shringa, at the edge of the ocean, O lord of men, lies the varsha named Airavata, farther on than Shringavan. There the sun does not scorch, and men do not age; the moon with its stars seems wrapped in light. The people born there have the radiance and hue of lotuses, with eyes like lotus petals and the fragrance of lotus petals. They are motionless, fragrant, need no food, have conquered their senses, have all descended from the world of the gods, and are free of taint, O king. These people, O lord of the people, live thirteen thousand years, O best of the Bharatas.
