अर्जुन उवाच
पश्यामि देवांस् तव देव देहे; सर्वांस् तथा भूतविशेषसंघान् ॥
ब्रह्माणम् ईशं कमलासनस्थम्; ऋषींश् च सर्वान् उरगांश् च दिव्यान् ॥
अनेकबाहूदरवक्त्रनेत्रं; पश्यामि त्वा सर्वतो ऽनन्तरूपम् ॥
नान्तं न मध्यं न पुनस् तवादिं; पश्यामि विश्वेश्वर विश्वरूप ॥
किरीटिनं गदिनं चक्रिणं च; तेजोराशिं सर्वतो दीप्तिमन्तम् ॥
पश्यामि त्वां दुर्निरीक्ष्यं समन्ताद्; दीप्तानलार्कद्युतिम् अप्रमेयम् ॥
त्वम् अक्षरं परमं वेदितव्यं; त्वम् अस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम् ॥
त्वम् अव्ययः शाश्वतधर्मगोप्ता; सनातनस् त्वं पुरुषो मतो मे ॥
अनादिमध्यान्तम् अनन्तवीर्यम्; अनन्तबाहुं शशिसूर्यनेत्रम् ॥
पश्यामि त्वां दीप्तहुताशवक्त्रं; स्वतेजसा विश्वम् इदं तपन्तम् ॥
द्यावापृथिव्योर् इदम् अन्तरं हि; व्याप्तं त्वयैकेन दिशश् च सर्वाः ॥
दृष्ट्वाद्भुतं रूपम् इदं तवोग्रं; लोकत्रयं प्रव्यथितं महात्मन् ॥

paśyāmi devāṃs tava deva dehe; sarvāṃs tathā bhūtaviśeṣasaṃghān ||
brahmāṇam īśaṃ kamalāsanastham; ṛṣīṃś ca sarvān uragāṃś ca divyān ||
anekabāhūdaravaktranetraṃ; paśyāmi tvā sarvato 'nantarūpam ||
nāntaṃ na madhyaṃ na punas tavādiṃ; paśyāmi viśveśvara viśvarūpa ||
kirīṭinaṃ gadinaṃ cakriṇaṃ ca; tejorāśiṃ sarvato dīptimantam ||
paśyāmi tvāṃ durnirīkṣyaṃ samantād; dīptānalārkadyutim aprameyam ||
tvam akṣaraṃ paramaṃ veditavyaṃ; tvam asya viśvasya paraṃ nidhānam ||
tvam avyayaḥ śāśvatadharmagoptā; sanātanas tvaṃ puruṣo mato me ||
anādimadhyāntam anantavīryam; anantabāhuṃ śaśisūryanetram ||
paśyāmi tvāṃ dīptahutāśavaktraṃ; svatejasā viśvam idaṃ tapantam ||
dyāvāpṛthivyor idam antaraṃ hi; vyāptaṃ tvayaikena diśaś ca sarvāḥ ||
dṛṣṭvādbhutaṃ rūpam idaṃ tavograṃ; lokatrayaṃ pravyathitaṃ mahātman ||
Arjuna said: "O God, in Your body I see all the gods, and also the hosts of manifold beings; I see Brahma the lord, seated upon the lotus, all the rishis, and the divine serpents. I see You on every side: with countless arms, bellies, mouths, and eyes, of boundless form. O Lord of the universe, O universal form, I see in You neither end, nor middle, nor beginning. I see You crowned, bearing mace and discus, a mass of splendor blazing on every side, hard to behold, immeasurable, radiant like blazing fire and sun. You are the supreme imperishable that is to be known; You are the highest treasury of this universe; You are the imperishable guardian of eternal dharma; You are the eternal Purusha, so I understand. I see You without beginning, middle, or end, of boundless power, with countless arms, with the moon and sun as Your eyes, with a mouth of blazing fire that scorches this world with its own radiance. The space between heaven and earth, and all the quarters, are filled by You alone. Seeing this wondrous and terrible form of Yours, O great one, the three worlds tremble."

Arjuna sees that Krishna's form is not merely larger than the world: it contains every level of being while at once surpassing beginning, middle, and end. Wonder mixes at once with dread, for absolute fullness is also absolute power.
