"From His mouth He created the brahmins, from His arms the kshatriyas, from His thighs, O king, the vaishyas, and from His feet the shudras. The God made steadfast by austerity is the abode of all embodied beings. Whoever, on the new moon and the full moon, serves Keshava as Brahman and as the essence of yoga attains what is great. Keshava is the supreme radiance and the forefather of all worlds; thus the sages call Hrishikesha, O lord of men. Know Him thus: as acharya, father, and guru. He to whom Krishna is gracious has thereby won imperishable worlds. Whoever, in a place of fear, goes to Keshava for refuge and ever recites this becomes prosperous and happy. Those who take refuge in Krishna are not deluded; Janardana ever protects those sunk in great fear. Having known this in accordance with the truth, O Bharata, Yudhishthira with his whole being took refuge in the great-souled Keshava, the Lord of the world, O king, the Master and Ruler of all yogas."

The chapter closes with a practical conclusion: knowledge of Keshava's greatness leads to refuge. Yudhishthira's strength lies not in self-confidence but in having taken the Lord of the world as his shelter with his whole being.
