译文

Then Govasana was surrounded by the chief Kambojas, mighty and swift, and by many thousands of cowherd troops. The lord of Kalinga was surrounded by the Madras, Sauviras, Gandharas, and the Trigartas, O lord of men, and by all the chief Kalingas. Elephants and streams of infantry went forward with Duhshasana in the lead; King Jayadratha was joined with all the kings. Fourteen thousand of the finest horsemen, urged on by your son, surrounded Saubala. Then all your troops, drawn up in divisions with their chariots and mounts, advanced in battle against the Pandavas, O bull of the Bharatas. Stirred by charioteers, elephants, horses, and foot soldiers, the dust rose like a great cloud, and a terrible slaughter began. Amid warriors bearing tomaras, prasas, and narachas, on elephants, horses, and chariots, Bhishma with his great force engaged Kiritin.'
