सो ऽहं तौ च महात्मानौ चिन्तयन् भ्रातरौ तव ॥
घोरं ज्ञातिवधं चैव न भुञ्जे शोककर्शितः ॥
न च भोक्ष्ये न जीविष्ये दिष्ट्या प्राप्तो ऽसि पाण्डव ॥
यद् उक्तं पार्थ कृष्णेन तत् सर्वम् अखिलं कुरु ॥
एतत् ते पार्थ राज्यं च स्त्रियो रत्नानि चैव ह ॥
इष्टान् प्राणान् अहं हीमांस् त्यक्ष्यामि रिपुसूदन ॥
so 'haṃ tau ca mahātmānau cintayan bhrātarau tava ||
ghoraṃ jñātivadhaṃ caiva na bhuñje śokakarśitaḥ ||
na ca bhokṣye na jīviṣye diṣṭyā prāpto 'si pāṇḍava ||
yad uktaṃ pārtha kṛṣṇena tat sarvam akhilaṃ kuru ||
etat te pārtha rājyaṃ ca striyo ratnāni caiva ha ||
iṣṭān prāṇān ahaṃ hīmāṃs tyakṣyāmi ripusūdana ||
'And I, dwelling upon those two great brothers of yours and upon the terrible slaughter of kinsmen, cannot endure to live — I go to the forest.'
