And, governed by the knower of the field, it is obtained again through causes; thus the Sovereign, God, others see again and again.

Here appears the word with which the Gītā opens its thirteenth chapter: kṣetrajña, “the knower of the field”.
The field is the body with all its apparatus; the knower of the field is he who is in it. And the Gītā adds: “know Me as the knower of the field in all fields”.
Here it is said: kṣetrajñādhiṣṭhitam — “governed by the knower of the field”. The world, that is, does not unfold by itself: it is ruled.
The same word adhiṣṭhita stood in the fourth verse, where the world woven by prakṛti was governed. The circle has closed: it began with her being led — and now it is said by whom.
Then — kāraṇair vidyate punaḥ, “it is obtained again through causes”. Manifestation returns not arbitrarily: it has causes, and the causes are deeds.
And last: paśyanty anye punaḥ punaḥ — “others see again and again”.
The repetition “again and again” applies, it seems, both to those who see and to what is seen. Some see once and remain; others, time after time, in each new swelling of the bubble.
The last verse will say what becomes of the former.
