Bhagavad Gita · 16.11-12

चिन्तामपरिमेयां च प्रलयान्तामुपाश्रिताः ।
कामोपभोगपरमा एतावदिति निश्चिताः ॥
आशापाशशतैर्बद्धाः कामक्रोधपरायणाः ।
ईहन्ते कामभोगार्थमन्यायेनार्थसञ्चयान् ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
cintām aparimeyāṁ ca pralayāntām upāśritāḥ |
kāmopabhoga-paramā etāvad iti niścitāḥ ||
Translation
“They are in the grip of countless anxieties that do not cease until the very moment of death. Their highest aim is sensory enjoyment, and they are convinced that this is all there is. (11) Bound by hundreds of nets of hope, wholly given over to lust and anger, they strive by unlawful means to accumulate wealth for the gratification of their senses. (12)”
