यातयामं गतरसं पूति पर्युषितं च यत् ।
उच्छिष्टमपि चामेध्यं भोजनं तामसप्रियम् ॥

yāta-yāmaṁ gata-rasaṁ pūti paryuṣitaṁ ca yat |
ucchiṣṭam api cāmedhyaṁ bhojanaṁ tāmasa-priyam ||

तामसप्रियम्tāmasa-priyamthat which is dear (priyam) to people in the guṇa of ignorance (tāmasa).
Translation
“Food prepared more than three hours before eating, tasteless, foul-smelling, stale, as well as leftovers and impure things — such food is dear to people in the guṇa of ignorance.”
