विधिहीनमसृष्टान्नं मन्त्रहीनमदक्षिणम् ।
श्रद्धाविरहितं यज्ञं तामसं परिचक्षते ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

vidhi-hīnam asṛṣṭānnam mantra-hīnam adakṣiṇam |
śraddhā-virahitaṁ yajñaṁ tāmasaṁ paricakṣate ||

Translation

“Any sacrifice performed contrary to the injunctions of the scriptures, without the distribution of sanctified food, without the chanting of Vedic hymns, without remuneration to the priests, and without any faith — is called a sacrifice in the guṇa of ignorance.”
