ततः कृष्णाब्रवीद् वाक्यं प्रहसन्ती मनोरमा ॥
गमिष्यामि न संतापः कार्यो मां प्रति भारत ॥
लोमश उवाच
तपसा शक्यते गन्तुं पर्वतो गन्धमादनः ॥
तपसा चैव कौन्तेय सर्वे योक्ष्यामहे वयम् ॥
नकुलः सहदेवश् च भीमसेनश् च पार्थिव ॥
अहं च त्वं च कौन्तेय द्रक्ष्यामः श्वेतवाहनम् ॥
वैशंपायन उवाच
एवं संभाषमाणास् ते सुबाहोर् विषयं महत् ॥
ददृशुर् मुदिता राजन् प्रभूतगजवाजिमत् ॥
किराततङ्गणाकीर्णं कुणिन्दशतसंकुलम् ॥
हिमवत्य् अमरैर् जुष्टं बह्वाश्चर्यसमाकुलम् ॥
सुबाहुश् चापि तान् दृष्ट्वा पूजया प्रत्यगृह्णत ॥
विषयान्ते कुणिन्दानाम् ईश्वरः प्रीतिपूर्वकम् ॥
तत्र ते पूजितास् तेन सर्व एव सुखोषिताः ॥
प्रतस्थुर् विमले सूर्ये हिमवन्तं गिरिं प्रति ॥
इन्द्रसेनमुखांश् चैव भृत्यान् पौरोगवांस् तथा ॥
सूदांश् च परिबर्हं च द्रौपद्याः सर्वशो नृप ॥
राज्ञः कुणिन्दाधिपतेः परिदाय महारथाः ॥
पद्भिर् एव महावीर्या ययुः कौरवनन्दनाः ॥
ते शनैः प्राद्रवन् सर्वे कृष्णया सह पाण्डवाः ॥
तस्माद् देशात् सुसंहृष्टा द्रष्टुकामा धनंजयम् ॥

tatra te pūjitās tena sarva eva sukhoṣitāḥ ||
pratasthur vimale sūrye himavantaṃ giriṃ prati ||
indrasenamukhāṃś caiva bhṛtyān paurogavāṃs tathā ||
sūdāṃś ca paribarhaṃ ca draupadyāḥ sarvaśo nṛpa ||
rājñaḥ kuṇindādhipateḥ paridāya mahārathāḥ ||

Translation

Vaishampayana said: "Then the lovely Krishna, smiling, said: 'I will go. There is no need to be troubled about me, Bharata.' Lomasha said: 'Mount Gandhamadana can be reached through austerity, Kaunteya, and through austerity we shall all be joined together. Nakula, Sahadeva, Bhimasena, I, and you, Kaunteya, shall see Shvetavahana.' Conversing thus, they saw with joy the great domain of Subahu, rich in elephants and horses, filled with Kiratas and Tanganas, thronged with hundreds of Kunindas, set in the Himalayas, frequented by the immortals and full of many wonders. Subahu, lord of the Kunindas, seeing them at the border of his country, received them with love and honor. There, honored by him, they all rested happily, and at the clear rising of the sun set out toward Mount Himavat. The servants headed by Indrasena, the kitchen overseers, the cooks, and all of Draupadi's belongings, O king, were entrusted to the king, the lord of the Kunindas. And the mighty descendants of Kuru went on foot. All the Pandavas, together with Krishna, slowly departed from that place, greatly rejoicing and eager to see Dhananjaya.'"

Commentary

Draupadi is not shown as a weak burden: she herself affirms her readiness to go. The journey becomes a shared vow, where Bhima's help and Krishna's resolve stand side by side.
