Translation

Yudhishthira said: "Bhima, let this best of rakshasas, who knows dharma, strong, brave, ever-ready, devoted to us, your own son, carry our mother. By your strength, O Bhima, formidable in feats, I shall reach Gandhamadana unharmed together with Panchali." Vaishampayana said: "Understanding his brother's word, Bhimasena, tiger among men, instructed his son, the scourge of enemies, Ghatotkacha: 'Haidimbeya, your unconquered mother is tired. You can go wherever you wish, child, and you are strong; carry her like a bird. Set her upon your shoulder, blessings upon you, and go among us through the sky by a low course, so as not to cause her suffering.' Ghatotkacha said: 'I am able to carry Dharmaraja, Dhaumya, the princess, and the twins all by myself; what need be said now, when there are helpers besides.' Having said this, the hero Ghatotkacha carried Krishna and walked among the Pandavas; the other Pandavas were carried by the other rakshasas. Lomasha, of matchless splendor, went by the path of the siddhas, shining with his own light like a second sun. And all those brahmins the rakshasas, mighty as Bhima, took up with them by the command of the king of the rakshasas, and carried them onward."
