गते तु तस्मिन् वरदेववाहे; शक्रात्मजः सर्वरिपुप्रमाथी ॥
शक्रेण दत्तानि ददौ महात्मा; महाधनान्य् उत्तमरूपवन्ति ॥
दिवाकराभाणि विभूषणानि; प्रीतः प्रियायै सुतसोममात्रे ॥
ततः स तेषां कुरुपुंगवानां; तेषां च सूर्याग्निसमप्रभाणाम् ॥
विप्रर्षभाणाम् उपविश्य मध्ये; सर्वं यथावत् कथयां बभूव ॥
एवं मयास्त्राण्य् उपशिक्षितानि; शक्राच् च वाताच् च शिवाच् च साक्षात् ॥
तथैव शीलेन समाधिना च; प्रीताः सुरा मे सहिताः सहेन्द्राः ॥
संक्षेपतो वै स विशुद्धकर्मा; तेभ्यः समाख्याय दिवि प्रवेशम् ॥
माद्रीसुताभ्यां सहितः किरीटी; सुष्वाप ताम् आवसतिं प्रतीतः ॥

śakreṇa dattāni dadau mahātmā; mahādhanāny uttamarūpavanti ||
divākarābhāṇi vibhūṣaṇāni; prītaḥ priyāyai sutasomamātre ||
tataḥ sa teṣāṃ kurupuṃgavānāṃ; teṣāṃ ca sūryāgnisamaprabhāṇām ||
viprarṣabhāṇām upaviśya madhye; sarvaṃ yathāvat kathayāṃ babhūva ||
evaṃ mayāstrāṇy upaśikṣitāni; śakrāc ca vātāc ca śivāc ca sākṣāt ||
tathaiva śīlena samādhinā ca; prītāḥ surā me sahitāḥ sahendrāḥ ||
saṃkṣepato vai sa viśuddhakarmā; tebhyaḥ samākhyāya divi praveśam ||
mādrīsutābhyāṃ sahitaḥ kirīṭī; suṣvāpa tām āvasatiṃ pratītaḥ ||
'When Matali had departed on the splendid divine chariot, the son of Shakra, the crusher of all foes, joyfully gave to his beloved Krishna, mother of Sutasoma, great treasures, beautiful in form, and ornaments shining like the sun. Then he sat down among the bulls of Kuru and the finest of brahmins, radiant as the sun and fire, and told them everything just as it had happened. "Thus I learned the weapons from Shakra, from Vayu, and from Shiva himself; and the gods together with Indra were pleased with my conduct and my meditation." Having briefly recounted to them his entry into the heavenly world, this Kiritin, pure in his deeds, together with the sons of Madri, joyfully fell asleep in that dwelling.'
