स पाञ्चजन्यो ऽच्युतवक्त्रवायुना; भृशं सुपूर्णोदरनिःसृतध्वनिः ॥
जगत् सपातालवियद्दिगीश्वरं; प्रकम्पयाम् आस युगात्यये यथा ॥
ततो वादित्रघोषाश् च प्रादुरासन् समन्ततः ॥
सिंहनादाश् च पाण्डूनां प्रतिज्ञाते महात्मना ॥

jagat sapātālaviyaddigīśvaraṃ; prakampayām āsa yugātyaye yathā ||

"That Pāñcajanya, filled with the breath of Achyuta's mouth, with a roar that mightily issued from its full interior, cast into trembling the world — with the netherworld, sky, the quarters of the compass, and their lords — as at the close of the cosmic age. Then the thunder of battle-music rang out from every side, and the lion-cries of the Pandavas, when the great-souled one had given his vow."

The chapter closes with a cosmic echo of the vow: the Lord's conch shakes 'jagat sapātāla-viyad-dig-īśvaram,' the world together with the netherworld, sky, and the lords of the quarters, 'yugātyaye yathā,' as at the end of an age. It is telling that Arjuna's vow is answered not only by human rejoicing but by the trembling of all creation: the breath of Achyuta proclaims that the word has been spoken and will be fulfilled. 'Siṃhanādāḥ pāṇḍūnām,' 'the lion-cries of the Pandavas,' take up the heavenly voice. The verse teaches that resolve consecrated by the Lord takes on cosmic weight: what began in one man's wrath, creation receives as an unfolding law.
