स भवान् मयि निक्षेपो निक्षिप्तः सव्यसाचिना ॥
भाद्वाजाद् यं नित्यं श्यमाने ते प्रभो
स्यापि हाबाहो नित्यं श्यति संयुगे
नान्यं हि प्रतियोद्धारं रौक्मिणेयाद् ते प्रभो
मां वापि न्यते युद्धे भाद्वास्य धीतः
सो ऽहं संभानां चैताम् चार्यनं तत्
पृष्ठतो नोत्सहे र्तुं त्वां वा त्यक्तुं हीते

sa bhavān mayi nikṣepo nikṣiptaḥ savyasācinā ||
bhāradvād bhayaṃ nityaṃ paśyanena te prabho ||
tasyāpi ca maho nityaṃ paśyati saṃyuge ||
nyaṃ hi pratiyoddhāraṃ raukmiṇed ṛte prabho ||
māṃ pi manyate yuddhe bhāradvājasya dhīmataḥ ||
so 'haṃ saṃbhāvanāṃ caim āryavacanaṃ ca tat ||
pṛṣṭhato notsahe kartuṃ tvāṃ tyaktuṃ mapate ||

सः अहम् संभावनाम् च एताम्saḥ aham saṃbhāvanām ca etāmI am that one, and this trust; [therefore] I, and this trust
आचार्यवचनम् च तत्ācāryavacanam ca tatand that word of the teacher; and that speech of the teacher [Arjuna's]
पृष्ठतः न उत्सहे कर्तुम्pṛṣṭhataḥ na utsahe kartumbehind, I do not dare to set; I do not dare to set aside
त्वाम् वा त्यक्तुम् महीपतेtvām vā tyaktum mahīpateor to abandon you, O lord of the earth; or to forsake you, O lord of the earth
Translation

'You are that pledge entrusted to me by Savyasachin, who constantly perceives a threat to you from the son of Bharadvaja, O lord. And he, O mighty-armed one, always sees in battle no other opponent for him except the son of Rukmini [Pradyumna], O lord.' I am one who dares not set aside this trust and that word of the teacher, nor abandon you, O lord of the earth.
