दृष्ट्वा दुर्योधनो राजा संतप्स्यति महामृधे ॥
अद्य स्नेहं च भक्तिं च पाण्डवेषु महात्मसु ॥
हत्वा राजसहस्राणि दर्शयिष्यामि राजसु ॥

"Today, having seen thousands of kings slain by me in battle, king Duryodhana shall grieve in the great battle. Today, having slain thousands of kings, I shall show [before] the kings [my] love and devotion [to] the Pandavas, great in soul."

The summit of Satyaki's vows: "sneham ca bhaktim ca pāṇḍaveṣu... darśayiṣyāmi" -- to show love and devotion to the Pandavas. Not glory, not vengeance, but love proven by deed is his aim. It is telling that he holds not victory but the manifestation of devotion as the highest thing. The verse teaches that the devotee's feat is the testimony of love: he fights not to triumph over the enemy but to show forth in deed his attachment to the dear ones -- for true bhakti is proven by devoted service, not by words.
