द्रोणानीकम् अतिक्रान्तं भोजानीकं च दुस्तरम् ॥
जलसंधार्णवं तीर्त्वा काम्बोजानां च वाहिनीम् ॥
हार्दिक्यमकरान् मुक्तं तीर्णं वै सैन्यसागरम् ॥
परिवव्रुः सुसंक्रुद्धास् त्वदीयाः सात्यकिं रथाः ॥

droṇānīkam atikrāntaṃ bhojānīkaṃ ca dustaram ||
jalasaṃdhārṇavaṃ tīrtvā kāmbojānāṃ ca vāhinīm ||
hārdikyamakarān muktaṃ tīrṇaṃ vai sainyasāgaram ||
parivavruḥ susaṃkruddhās tvadīyāḥ sātyakiṃ rathāḥ ||

Translation
Having passed through Droṇa's array and the impassable array of Bhoja, having crossed the ocean of Jalasaṃdha and the host of the Kambojas, freed [from] the crocodile Hārdikya, having crossed the sea of the army — Sātyaki was surrounded by your greatly enraged chariots.

Each obstacle is named as part of a single "sainyasāgara," a sea of an army: Droṇa, Bhoja, Jalasaṃdha, the Kambojas, Hārdikya. Satyaki has crossed them all — and is surrounded once more. It is telling that one who has overcome a sea of obstacles meets ever new ones. The verse teaches that the path to a lofty goal is an unending chain of obstacles: beyond every sea crossed rises another, and the one who walks it is called not to despair at their multitude, but steadily to overcome them one by one, remembering why he walks.
