तान् भिद्रतः र्वान् मीक्ष्य शिनिपुंवः
नैर् याहीति न्तारम् ब्रवीत् प्रसन्न्
दम् ति मुद्धूतं धार्तराष्ट्रस्य यद् लम्
माम् वाभिमुखं तूर्णं जाश्वत्तिमत्
नायन् वै दिशः र्वा घोषे साथे
पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षं म्पयन् सारान् पि
तद् लार्णवं ता वायिष्ये हाणे
पौर्णमास्याम् वोद्धूतं वेले लिलायम्

n abhidravataḥ sarvān sakṣya śinipuṃgavaḥ ||
śanair yāti yantāram abrat prahasann iva ||
idam eti samuddhūtaṃ dhārtaṣṭrasya yad balam ||
m ebhimukhaṃ rṇaṃ gaśvarathapattimat ||
dayan vai diśaḥ sarvā rathaghoṣeṇa rathe ||
pṛthivīṃ ntarikṣaṃ ca kampayan sāgan api ||
etad barṇavaṃ ta rayiṣye maraṇe ||
paurṇasyām ivoddhūtaṃ veleva saliśayam ||

Translation

Having beheld them all charging, the bull [of the] Śini [clan] said to his charioteer, as though laughing, "Drive slowly. Here comes the surging force of Dhṛtarāṣṭra's son, turned straight [upon] me, swiftly, [with] elephants, horses, chariots, and foot, making all the quarters resound with the roar of chariots, O charioteer, and shaking the earth and the sky and the oceans too. This ocean of an army, O dear one, I shall check [in] great battle, [as] surging at the full moon, like the shore [holds] the sea."
