तथा तु वैकर्तनपीडितं तं; भीमं प्रयान्तं पुरुषप्रवीरम् ॥
समीक्ष्य राजन् नरवीरमध्ये; शिनिप्रवीरो ऽनुययौ रथेन ॥
नदन् यथा वज्रधरस् तपान्ते; ज्वलन् यथा जलदान्ते च सूर्यः ॥
निघ्नन्न् अमित्रान् धनुषा दृढेन; संकम्पयंस् तव पुत्रस्य सेनाम् ॥
तं यान्तम् अश्वै रजतप्रकाशैर्; आयोधने नरवीरं चरन्तम् ॥
नाशक्नुवन् वारयितुं त्वदीयाः; सर्वे रथा भारत माधवाग्र्यम् ॥

tathā tu vaikartanapīḍitaṃ taṃ; bhīmaṃ prayāntaṃ puruṣapravīram ||
samīkṣya rājan naravīramadhye; śinipravīro 'nuyayau rathena ||
nadan yathā vajradharas tapānte; jvalan yathā jaladānte ca sūryaḥ ||
nighnann amitrān dhanuṣā dṛḍhena; saṃkampayaṃs tava putrasya senām ||
taṃ yāntam aśvai rajataprakāśair; āyodhane naravīraṃ carantam ||
nāśaknuvan vārayituṃ tvadīyāḥ; sarve rathā bhārata mādhavāgryam ||

Translation

So too, having seen that Bhima, foremost of men, harried by Vaikartana [Karna], withdrawing amid the hero-men, O king, the hero of Shini [Satyaki] followed on his chariot, roaring like the thunderer at the close of the hot season, blazing like the sun after the rains, slaying foes with his sturdy bow, shaking the army of your son. That one, borne by silver-gleaming horses, that hero of men ranging over the battlefield, your charioteers — all of them, O Bharata — could not restrain the foremost Madhava [Satyaki].
