अमर्षपूर्णस् त्व् अनिवृत्तयोधी; शरासनी काञ्चनवर्मधारी ॥
अलम्बुसः सात्यकिं माधवाग्र्यम्; अवारयद् राजवरो ऽभिपत्य ॥
तयोर् अभूद् भारत संप्रहारस्; तथागतो नैव बभूव कश् चित् ॥
प्रैक्षन्त एवाहवशोभिनौ तौ; योधास् त्वदीयाश् च परे च सर्वे ॥

amarṣapūrṇas tv anivṛttayodhī; śarāsanī kāñcanavarmadhārī ||
alambusaḥ sātyakiṃ mādhavāgryam; avārayad rājavaro 'bhipatya ||
tayor abhūd bhārata saṃprahāras; tathāgato naiva babhūva kaś cit ||
praikṣanta evāhavaśobhinau tau; yodhās tvadīyāś ca pare ca sarve ||

Full of indignation, an unyielding fighter, the archer clad in golden armor — Alambusa, best of kings, charged and checked Satyaki, the foremost Madhava. Between the two of them there was, O Bharata, a clash the like of which had never occurred before; your warriors and the enemies alike could only watch the two, resplendent in battle.
