Here a king's daughter joyfully serves in a humble house. It is telling that Draupadi, a maiden of royal blood, without hesitation carries out her mother-in-law's wish, distributing and dividing the meager fare: the new daughter-in-law shows humility and obedience from the very first day. True nobility does not disdain service: born to comfort, she serves joyfully in poverty. So the scripture reveals Draupadi's good conduct, and her uncomplaining service is a good omen of harmony in the family.
