उत्सवे वृत्तमात्रे तु त्रैलोक्याकाङ्क्षिणाव् उभौ ॥
मन्त्रयित्वा ततः सेनां ताव् आज्ञापयतां तदा ॥
सुहृद्भिर् अभ्यनुज्ञातौ दैत्यवृद्धैश् च मन्त्रिभिः ॥
कृत्वा प्रास्थानिकं रात्रौ मघासु ययतुस् तदा ॥

Traducción

Narada said: "As soon as the festival had ended, the two of them, both craving the three worlds, having taken counsel, commanded the army to march; sent off with blessings by their friends and the elder counselors of the daityas, having performed the rite of departure, at night, under the constellation Maghā, they set out."

Comentario

Here greed for power carries straight from feasting to war. It is telling that the brothers set out to conquer the moment the festival has died down: insatiable lust for dominion is never content with what it has gained. This reveals the truth that the thirst for power knows no satiety and drives ever onward to new conquests. Thus the scripture shows the restlessness of the asuric will; and their campaign will turn to disaster for the worlds.
