समाजघ्ने महाघोषां जाम्बूनदपरिष्कृताम् ॥

Here the news rouses the whole city to its feet. It is significant that they strike the war-drum: a seeming insult calls men to arms. This shows how swift is the anger of a crowd that does not know the hidden design. Thus the scripture reveals the alarm of the Yadavas; and their haste stems from ignorance of Krishna's will.
