Traducción
‘When they had taken their seats, like gods in assembly, the keeper of the hall, together with his attendants, told of Jishnu's deed; hearing that, those heroes of the Vrishnis, their eyes red with wine, unable to bear Partha's deed, sprang up, overcome with pride.’

Here wine and pride kindle anger. It is significant that the heroes' eyes are ‘red with wine’ and they themselves are ‘overcome with pride’: wine and self-love together cloud the mind. This shows that anger heated by wine is swift and blind. Thus the scripture reveals the Yadavas' outburst of fury; and only a sober word will be able to calm it.
