Traducción
“The slaughter of men [as sacrifice] has never once been seen; how then do you wish to honor the god Shankara with a sacrifice of men? [Thus] a man of one kind would reduce people of his own kind to [sacrificial] cattle! Who else is so feeble-minded as you, Jarasandha?”

Here is exposed the gravest perversion of sacrifice — the slaughter of human beings. It is telling that Krishna calls this a turning of man into 'cattle': whoever offers human beings in sacrifice thereby degrades the image of God to the level of an animal. True sacrifice elevates; false sacrifice defiles both priest and god. Thus scripture shows the boundary between yajna and villainy; what follows concerns the purpose of their coming.
