Traducción

And his asceticism, O subduer of foes, was harsh, terrible, and exceedingly severe. And seeing the austerity, courage, and truthfulness of this being, who possessed immeasurable energy, Indra grew troubled, fearing that this creature might take his place. And Indra reflected: 'How can he be made to grow attached to sensual pleasures; how can he be made to abandon the practice of such severe austerities? For if the three-headed being were to grow strong, he would devour the entire universe.' Thus did Indra ponder in his mind; and, O best of the Bharata race, endowed with wisdom, he commanded the celestial nymphs to tempt the son of Tvashtri. And he commanded them, saying: 'Go quickly, without delay, and tempt him so that the three-headed being may become immersed in sensual pleasures to the utmost.'
