Traducción

All the Kurus were present there, both young and old. Had they then prevented this humiliation inflicted upon her, I would have been satisfied with Dhritarashtra's conduct. It would also have been for the good of his sons. Duhshasana forcibly dragged Krishna into the midst of the public hall, where her fathers-in-law sat. Brought there, hoping for compassion, she found no one to support her save Vidura. The kings uttered not a word of protest, solely because they were a gathering of fools. Vidura alone spoke words of opposition, out of a sense of duty — words conceived in righteousness, addressed to that dull-witted man (Duryodhana). You did not tell him then, O Sanjaya, what law and morality are, yet now you have come to instruct the son of Pandu! But Krishna, arriving in the hall at that moment, set everything right, for, like a ship at sea, she rescued the Pandavas, and herself as well, from that gathering ocean of misfortune! Then, in that hall, while Krishna stood there, the charioteer's son addressed her in the presence of her fathers-in-law, saying: 'O daughter of Drupada, you have no refuge. Better become a slave in the house of Dhritarashtra's son.'
