"People perform the funeral rites for those who have perished and are given up for lost; in that sense they are already dead to me, and I to them, O Janardana. Tell King Yudhishthira, righteous in soul, O Madhava: your dharma is diminishing all the more; do not act in vain, my son. Cursed be I, who live dependent on others, O Vasudeva -- a life obtained through wretched means is worse than no standing at all. Then tell Dhananjaya, and Vrikodara ever intent on his purpose: the very time has come for which a kshatriya woman bears sons. If this hour that has arrived passes you by unused, being men esteemed by the world, you will have done something exceedingly cruel."
