Kunti said: "O Keshava, tell Arjuna this: when you were born and, after the birth, I sat in the hermitage surrounded by women, a voice sounded in the air, divine in form and delighting the mind: 'O Kunti, this son of yours will be equal to the Thousand-Eyed One. He will conquer in battle all the Kurus who have gathered together, and having Bhimasena as his second, he will shake the world. Your son will conquer the earth, and his fame will touch the heavens. Having slain the Kurus in the war over the village, with Vasudeva as his helper, he will again raise up the lost paternal share, and, together with his brothers, glorious, he will offer three great sacrifices.'"

Kunti closes her message not with a complaint but with a precise reminder of duty: Arjuna must fulfil the prophecy, Bhima must not forget the humiliation, Draupadi must be honored, and Krishna becomes the keeper of this memory before the Pandavas.
