Traducción

Bhishma said: This great burden of the son of Dhritarashtra, vast as the ocean and pondered over many years, has been laid upon me in battle. Now that this scorching, hair-raising hour has come, I must not sow discord among our own side; that is why you remain alive, O son of a suta. Indeed, old as I am, I have no wish today to exert my strength and cut short, in battle, your boyish faith in fighting and in your own life, O son of a suta. When Rama, son of Jamadagni, was loosing his great astras at me, no fear ever touched me — what, then, could you do to me? Of course, the noble do not praise self-glorification of one's own strength, but inflamed as I am, I will tell you this all the same, you disgrace of your lineage.
