Traducción

Bhishma said: Then, as if smiling, I answered Rama, who stood firm before me in battle: 'Standing on my chariot, I cannot fight you while you stand on the ground. Mount your chariot, hero, and put on your armor, O mighty-armed Rama, if you wish to fight me in battle.' Then Rama, smiling on the battlefield, said to me: 'My chariot, Bhishma, is the earth; my horses are the Vedas, like fine steeds; my charioteer is the wind, and my armor is the mothers of the Vedas. Securely clad in them, I shall fight, O joy of the Kurus.' Having said this, Rama, whose valor is ever true, surrounded me on all sides with a great shower of arrows.
