Duryodhana said: "In all worlds Vasudeva is called the great Existent One. I wish to know His origin and His foundation, forefather."

Duryodhana is no longer asking about tactics but about the nature of Vasudeva. The very question shows that Bhishma's words have touched what matters most: if Krishna is not merely an ally of the Pandavas, then the whole war stands on a different foundation.
