दुःशासनमुखा यत्ताः सव्यं पार्श्वम् अपालयन् ॥
तेषां प्रपक्षाः काम्बोजाः सुदक्षिणपुरःसराः ॥
ययुर् अश्वैर् महावेगैः शकाश् च यवनैः सह ॥

Kripa, Kritavarman, Chitrasena, and Vivimshati, led by Duhshasana, stood ready and defended the left wing. Their flanking guard was the Kambojas headed by Sudakshina, advancing on swift horses, together with the Shakas and the Yavanas.

In the ranks of the Kauravas gather peoples from every corner of the earth — Gandharans, Kambojas, Shakas, Yavanas: an unrighteous cause knows how to rally many beneath its banners, for power and wealth draw allies. But the multitude and variety of an army are no sign of righteousness — indeed, the epic has shown more than once that even the greatest hosts perish when they stand for adharma. The verse teaches that an abundance of allies and the breadth of a coalition are no proof that a cause is just; that evil possessed of power easily gathers multitudes around itself; and that the outcome is decided not by the number of peoples, but by which side dharma and its unseen Guardian stand on.
