यज्वनां दानशीलानां ब्राह्मणानां कृतात्मनाम् ॥
चरितब्रह्मचर्याणां पुण्यतीर्थावगाहिनाम् ॥
कृतज्ञानां वदान्यानां गुरुशुश्रूषिणाम् अपि ॥
सहस्रदक्षिणानां च या गतिस् ताम् अवाप्नुहि ॥
या गतिर् युध्यमानानां शूराणाम् अनिवर्तिनाम् ॥
हत्वारीन् निहतानां च संग्रामे तां गतिं व्रज ॥

yajvanāṃ dānaśīlānāṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ kṛtātmanām ||
caritabrahmacaryāṇāṃ puṇyatīrthāvagāhinām ||
kṛtajñānāṃ vadānyānāṃ guruśuśrūṣiṇām api ||
sahasradakṣiṇānāṃ ca yā gatis tām avāpnuhi ||
yā gatir yudhyamānānāṃ śūrāṇām anivartinām ||
hatvārīn nihatānāṃ ca saṃgrāme tāṃ gatiṃ vraja ||

या गतिः युध्यमानानाम्yā gatiḥ yudhyamānānāmthe goal of those who fight; the destiny of those who battle
शूराणाम् अनिवर्तिनाम्śūrāṇām anivartināmheroes who do not retreat; unyielding heroes
हत्वा अरीन् निहतानाम् चhatvā arīn nihatānām caand, having slain foes, [themselves] slain; and, having slain foes, fallen
संग्रामे ताम् गतिम् व्रजsaṃgrāme tām gatim vrajain battle — attain that goal [go to it]; in combat — attain that destiny
Traducción

"Whatever destiny awaits those who offer sacrifices, the generous, brahmins perfected in spirit, who kept chastity, who bathed at holy tirthas, the grateful, the munificent, those who served their gurus and gave thousandfold dakshinas — attain that. Whatever destiny is granted to fighting, unyielding heroes who, having slain their foes, themselves fell in battle — attain that destiny."
