When the ranks had been arrayed, resounding with war-cries, O venerable one, when the kettledrums were struck and the mridangas rumbled, at the roar of the ranks and the clang of instruments, when the conches were blown, at the cry that made the hair stand on end, when the Bharatas, eager for battle, advanced slowly — when the dread hour had come, Savyasachin appeared.
