Duryodhana, disregarding the danger, blocks the very path of Arjuna and Krishna. It is boldness bordering on recklessness. And Arjuna too flares into rage -- a worthy challenge kindles anger. The verse teaches that the desperate defiance of the wicked meets righteous wrath: a challenge thrown at the very instrument of God's will only fires it further; and one who, disregarding the plain danger, stands before retribution only hastens his own hour, stoking a wrath that might otherwise have passed him by.
