भूरिश्रवास् तु संक्रुद्धः प्रतोदं चिच्छिदे हरेः ॥
अर्जुनं च त्रिसप्तत्या बाणानाम् आजघान ह ॥
ततः शरशतैस् तीक्ष्णैस् तान् अरीञ् श्वेतवाहनः ॥
प्रत्यषेधद् द्रुतं क्रुद्धो महावातो घनान् इव ॥

pratyaṣedhad drutaṃ kruddho mahāvāto ghanān iva ||

Traducción
But Bhurishravas, enraged, cut off Hari's goad and struck Arjuna with seventy-three arrows. Then the White-Horsed one, enraged, swiftly repelled those enemies with hundreds of sharp arrows, like a great wind scattering the clouds.

The enemies again aim at Hari the charioteer -- "pratodam cicchide hareh", cutting off the goad in His hand -- and again this only rouses Arjuna further. The image of the resolution -- "mahavatah ghanan iva", as a storm scatters clouds -- shows what had seemed a thundering mass of eight dispersed by a single hand. It is telling that the force gathered around the wrongful side scatters like clouds before the wind. The verse teaches that the number and fury of enemies are powerless where the Lord Himself stands behind the righteous; a storm of many is scattered before the one whom He protects.
