तद् अस्त्रं भस्मसात् कृत्वा तां शक्तिं घोरदर्शनाम् ॥
जगाम स्यन्दनं तूर्णं पाण्डवस्य यशस्विनः ॥
ततो युधिष्ठिरो राजा द्रोणास्त्रं तत् समुद्यतम् ॥
अशामयन् महाप्राज्ञो ब्रह्मास्त्रेणैव भारत ॥
विव्याध च रणे द्रोणं पञ्चभिर् नतपर्वभिः ॥
क्षुरप्रेण च तीक्ष्णेन चिच्छेदास्य महद् धनुः ॥

vivyādha ca raṇe droṇaṃ pañcabhir nataparvabhiḥ ||
kṣurapreṇa ca tīkṣṇena cicchedāsya mahad dhanuḥ ||

Traducción

That [weapon of Brahma], reducing to ashes the terrible spear, rushed swiftly toward the chariot of the illustrious Pandava. Then the greatly wise king Yudhishthira quenched that uplifted weapon of Drona with the very weapon of Brahma, O Bharata; and he pierced Drona in battle with five smooth-jointed [arrows], and with a sharp razor-[headed shaft] cut off his great bow.
