भीसेने ते राजन् पाञ्चाल्ये चोदिताः
घ्नुः कौवान् संख्ये त्यक्त्वासून् त्मनः प्रियान्
च्छन्तो निनं युद्धे स्त्रैर् त्ततेसः
स्वर्गार्थं मित्रकार्यार्थं नाभ्यक्षन्त जीवितम्
थै ताका राजन् प्रार्थन्तो हद् शः
र्यां युद्धे तिं कृत्वा युद्धायैवोस्थिरे

tathaiva va jan prārthayanto mahad yaśaḥ ||
āryāṃ yuddhe matiṃ kṛtvā yuddhāyaivopatasthire ||

"Urged on by Bhimasena and the Panchalyan, they, O king, struck the Kauravas in battle, having given up their own dear lives. Desiring death in battle, warriors of supreme ardor, for heaven's sake and for the sake of a friend's cause, did not spare their lives. So too your men, O king, seeking great glory, having formed a noble resolve in battle, stood ready for the fight."
