मुमो रिघं घोरं सोत्तस्य क्षसि
तम् न्तं वेगे रिघं घोर्शनम्
द्विधा चिच्छे रे प्रसन्न् कौवः
पा द्विधा छिन्न सः रिघो हान्
हीस्ये हच् छिरं ज्रदारितम्
तस् तु सात्यकी राजन् सोत्तस्य संयुगे
नुश् चिच्छे ल्ले स्तावापं ञ्चभिः

tatas tu tvatasyārthe bhaimasenir navaṃ dṛḍham ||
mumoca parighaṃ ghoraṃ somadattasya vakṣasi ||
tam āpatantaṃ vegena parighaṃ ghoradarśanam ||
dvidhā ciccheda samare prahasann iva kauravaḥ ||
sa pata dvidhā chinna āyasaḥ parigho mahān ||
madharasyeva mahac chikharaṃ vajraritam ||
tatas tu tya jan somadattasya saṃyuge ||
dhanuś ciccheda bhallena hastāpaṃ ca pañcabhiḥ ||

Traducción

Then, for Satvata's sake, the son of Bhimasena [Ghatotkaca] hurled a new, sturdy, terrible mace at Somadatta's chest. That mace, flying headlong, fearsome to behold, the Kaurava [Somadatta] cut in two in the melee, as if laughing. And the great iron mace fell, cut in two, like a great mountain peak split by the vajra. Then Satyaki, O king, in the encounter severed Somadatta's bow with a broad-headed arrow, and his arm-guard with five arrows.
