तं शरौघमहाज्वालम् अस्त्रार्चिषम् अरिंदमम् ॥
पाण्डुपावकम् आसाद्य व्यदह्यन्त नराधिपाः ॥
ते ससेनाः ससेनेन विध्वंसितबला नृपाः ॥
पाण्डुना वशगाः कृत्वा करकर्मसु योजिताः ॥
तेन ते निर्जिताः सर्वे पृथिव्यां सर्वपार्थिवाः ॥
तम् एकं मेनिरे शूरं देवेष्व् इव पुरंदरम् ॥

tena te nirjitāḥ sarve pṛthivyāṃ sarvapārthivāḥ ||
tam ekaṃ menire śūraṃ deveṣv iva puraṃdaram ||

तं शरौघमहाज्वालम् अस्त्रार्चिषम् अरिंदमम्taṃ śaraughamahājvālam astrārciṣam ariṃdamamhim — [the fire] whose great flame is torrents of arrows, whose tongues are weapons, the subduer of enemies
पाण्डुपावकम् आसाद्य व्यदह्यन्त नराधिपाःpāṇḍupāvakam āsādya vyadahyanta narādhipāḥhaving met [this] fire-Pandu, the kings burned
ते ससेनाः ससेनेन विध्वंसितबलाः नृपाःte sasenāḥ sasenena vidhvaṃsitabalāḥ nṛpāḥthose kings with their armies, [him] with his army, with their forces shattered
पाण्डुना वशगाः कृत्वा करकर्मसु योजिताःpāṇḍunā vaśagāḥ kṛtvā karakarmasu yojitāḥPandu, having made them submissive, set them to the payment of tribute (to tributary duties)

अनुवाद

"Having met this fire-Pandu — whose great flame is torrents of arrows, whose tongues are weapons, the subduer of enemies — the kings burned. Those kings, with their armies, their forces shattered, made submissive by Pandu, were set to the payment of tribute. By him all the kings on earth were vanquished, and him alone they honored as a hero, as among the gods they honor Indra."
