हिडिम्बा तु ततः कुन्तीम् अभिवाद्य कृताञ्जलिः ॥
युधिष्ठिरं च कौन्तेयम् इदं वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥

Here the humility of one who has turned shows itself. It is telling that she whose brother had come to kill them now stands with joined palms, greeting the mother and the eldest: she who came for destruction has become a supplicant. True conversion gives birth to humility: a heart turned toward the good bows before the righteous. It is telling too that Hidimba addresses Kunti and Yudhishthira first, and not Bhima alone: she seeks not a secret bond but the blessing of the elders. Thus the scripture shows that love which seeks dharma begins with reverence and humility before those whose word is sacred.
