वैशंपायन उवाच
ततः कुन्ती भीमसेनम् अर्जुनं यमजौ तथा ॥
उवाच गमनं ते च तथेत्य् एवाब्रुवंस् तदा ॥
तत आमन्त्र्य तं विप्रं कुन्ती राजन् सुतैः सह ॥
प्रतस्थे नगरीं रम्यां द्रुपदस्य महात्मनः ॥

अनुवाद
Vaishampayana said: "Then Kunti asked Bhimasena, Arjuna, and the twin brothers about the journey, and they all then said, 'So be it.' Then, having taken leave of that brahmin, Kunti, together with her sons, O king, set out for the delightful city of the great Drupada."

Here the family's unanimity turns into a journey. The brothers' brief assent, "So be it," is telling: where harmony reigns, a decision comes without dispute. Telling too is that they "take leave of the brahmin": they do not depart in secret, but part with honor from their host, as gratitude demands. Here it is seen that even on the road the righteous keep courtesy and gratitude. Thus the scripture shows that the path to Panchala begins in accord and gratitude; and behind the ordinary preparations for the road moves the destiny that leads the Pandavas toward Draupadi's svayamvara.
