गन्धर्व उवाच
एवम् उक्त्वा ततस् तूर्णं जगामोर्ध्वम् अनिन्दिता ॥
स तु राजा पुनर् भूमौ तत्रैव निपपात ह ॥
अमात्यः सानुयात्रस् तु तं ददर्श महावने ॥
क्षितौ निपतितं काले शक्रध्वजम् इवोच्छ्रितम् ॥
तं हि दृष्ट्वा महेष्वासं निरश्वं पतितं क्षितौ ॥
बभूव सो ऽस्य सचिवः संप्रदीप्त इवाग्निना ॥

taṃ hi dṛṣṭvā maheṣvāsaṃ niraśvaṃ patitaṃ kṣitau ||
babhūva so 'sya sacivaḥ saṃpradīpta ivāgninā ||

तं हि दृष्ट्वा महेष्वासं निरश्वं पतितं क्षितौtaṃ hi dṛṣṭvā maheṣvāsaṃ niraśvaṃ patitaṃ kṣitauseeing that great archer, bereft of his horse, fallen to the ground,

अनुवाद

The Gandharva said: "So having spoken, the blameless maiden at once rose upward, and that king again fell to the ground. The minister, with his retinue, saw him in the great forest, fallen, like the towering standard of Indra cast down; and seeing that great archer, bereft of his horse, fallen to the ground, his counselor became as if engulfed by fire of grief."
