एवंगते यत् करणीयम् अत्र; धर्म्यं यशस्यं कुरु तत् प्रचिन्त्य ॥
पाञ्चालराजस्य च यत् प्रियं स्यात्; तद् ब्रूहि सर्वे स्म वशे स्थितास् ते ॥

Here Arjuna entrusts the decision wholly to his elder brother. It is significant that he asks him to do what is "righteous and honorable," mindful too of Drupada's pleasure: a good decision must preserve dharma, honor, and the goodwill of an ally alike. Here is obedience trusting in the wisdom of the head: "we all stand at your command" — a unity resting on submission to the elder. Thus the text shows that the brothers' concord rests on trust and obedience; and by handing the decision to Yudhishthira, Arjuna prepares the ground for an extraordinary arrangement.
