Here hospitality itself is schemed to be turned into a trap. It is telling that Duryodhana wants to lure his kinsmen in trustingly and destroy them there: betrayal of a guest and a kinsman is the gravest of sins. Here we see the sacred duty of hospitality defiled, turned into an instrument of murder. Thus the text reveals the treachery of the design; and the abuse of trust cries out for retribution from above.
