पितामहं नमस्कृत्य तद्वाक्यम् अभिनन्द्य च ॥
निर्ममे योषितं दिव्यां चिन्तयित्वा प्रयत्नतः ॥
त्रिषु लोकेषु यत् किं चिद् भूतं स्थावरजङ्गमम् ॥
समानयद् दर्शनीयं तत् तद् यत्नात् ततस् ततः ॥
कोटिशश् चापि रत्नानि तस्या गात्रे न्यवेशयत् ॥
तां रत्नसंघातमयीम् असृजद् देवरूपिणीम् ॥
pitāmahaṃ namaskṛtya tadvākyam abhinandya ca ||
nirmame yoṣitaṃ divyāṃ cintayitvā prayatnataḥ ||
triṣu lokeṣu yat kiṃ cid bhūtaṃ sthāvarajaṅgamam ||
samānayad darśanīyaṃ tat tad yatnāt tatas tataḥ ||
koṭiśaś cāpi ratnāni tasyā gātre nyaveśayat ||
tāṃ ratnasaṃghātamayīm asṛjad devarūpiṇīm ||
"Having bowed to the Grandsire and welcomed that word, Vishvakarma fashioned a divine woman, having pondered her carefully; whatever there is of beauty in the three worlds — unmoving or moving — that loveliness of hers he diligently gathered from everywhere; and countless jewels he set into her body, creating her, as though made of a mass of gems, godlike in form."

Here the most skillful craftsman brings together all the beauty of creation into one. It is significant that Vishvakarma gathers beauty "from everywhere": perfection is composed of the best in all that exists. Here is reflected the thought that all earthly beauty is a reflection of a single source of loveliness. Thus scripture shows the birth of an incomparable woman; and in her is concentrated the loveliness of the three worlds.
