Here the Lord, all-knowing, still asks in the manner of a friend. Krishna, who knows everything, questions Arjuna about his journey: closeness allows for plain conversation, where the Lord seems to stand as an equal to His friend. Here is the sweetness of the mood of friendship [sakhya], in which the Lord's greatness is diminished by love. So the verse shows the warmth of their exchange; and Krishna approves his friend's pilgrimage.
