And the chariot, yoked with wondrous horses, bearing the banner of the finest monkey, furnished with silvery gandharva horses in golden garlands, resembling a pale cloud, equal to mind and wind in speed; furnished with every equipment, unconquerable by gods and danavas, radiant, thunderous, captivating to all beings; which Bhauvana, lord of the worlds, Prajapati, fashioned by his own austerity — a chariot indescribable, whose form was like the sun's.

Here the chariot too is the fruit of divine austerity. It is significant that Prajapati created it 'by his own austerity [tapas]': the wondrous arises from tapas even in the Creator. The instruments of the gods themselves are hallowed by austerity. Thus the scripture reveals the greatness of Arjuna's chariot; and swift as thought, it will carry him to the great undertaking.
